Cleaning up journals and posting pictures! Here’s day 5 of the Galapagos, with lots of pictures. (In case you’re seeing my Galapagos posts for the first time, the journal actually starts here. Each page leads you to the next one in the series.
Here are two more installments in the Galapagos saga – Days 3 and 4, Tuesday and Wednesday.(There are 8 all together so you’re half way through it!) Because our days were very much the same, these installments are shorter – You don’t need to hear about what we ate and what time we got up and all those things – and if you do, just re-read Day 1. We had a slight change in format on Wednesday – but nothing I couldn’t dispatch in a paragraph or so!
If you have been following along as I post, you will want to start here, with the latest and greatest. If you’re new to the journal (or have a bad memory) just go ahead and start at the beginning. It won’t take you long to catch up!. Enjoy!
This next installment in the Galapagos journal covers our first full day. We visited the island of Floreana, making two stops, and snorkeled (no underwater pictures though). It was also suggested to me by my editor that I show you a picture of the boat we are traveling on, so here it is.

A giant tortoise with a dome-shaped shell. These we did see in the wild. Stay tuned for more photos down the road.
Finally, the moment you have all been waiting for! The journal now begins to relate our days in Galapagos. Here’s day 1. (No I am not drawing this out to irritate you – I am finishing up the journals and working on the pictures as I go along, in the hopes that I can get this all published before my next trip in 6 days!). If you are new to these posts and want to read from the beginning, click here. Each will take you to the next one.
Here’s the second installment of the Ecuador Journal – covering our day in Quito. If you did not get to read Day 1, click here. If you’re ready for Day 2, click here. If you have been to Quito, please add your impressions in the comments.
