Finally! Foiled continually by the internet service in Sicily, I outwitted its vagaries by an early morning foray into cyberspace. Thankfully, here is the last of the Berlin Journals. Stay tuned for Palermo, coming “soon” – signal permitting! (The other parts of this journal are: Berlin I and Berlin II.)

Welcome to Germany! We’re having a great time, stumbling through our limited German, but finding our way around with the help of many Germans who speak English. Here’s my account of our first three days.
PS Here is Gerry feeling “at home” next to the Berlin Wall (on the left side of the picture).
As my close friends know, I am off to Berlin and Sicily this coming Thursday (so stay tuned for on the road dispatches from the Old World), but I wanted to finish up the summer’s travels before I started something entirely different. And so, I hope you enjoy the journal of a day trip that Oscar and Gerry, Sr. and I enjoyed while we were visiting Gerry, Jr. in early September in Texas (with the excuse to see a TCU football game!).
