Our second day in Paris is the first day of our Viking cruise …

The Viking itinerary counts this as Day 1, even though there was absolutely no Viking sponsored activity on this day – just arrival day – and check into the hotel.  Since we arrived the day before (Day 0?), we were in a holding pattern as we waited for our friends to get in. Despite the rain outside, we had a great day and explored some previously unvisited parts of Paris.

A Paris facade - a city like no other!

A Paris facade – a city like no other!

They’re off!

Foreward:  I woke up this morning smiling.

Though everyday one even wakes up at all is a day for smiling, today is extra special. Thrilled that I am getting on a plane to fly to Europe, that I will be walking the streets of Paris tomorrow has me all smiles!

This trip is going to be varied! We start off in Paris, stop in Luxembourg, board a river boar in Trier, Germany- disembark the riverboat in Nuremburg, travel to Prague by bus; spend 4 days in Prague then tour the Czech Republic by car for five more days before returning to Paris (another full day) and then fly home. To say “I cannot wait” would be an understatement! No waiting necessary – we’re on our way. As I write I am in the airport in Miami waiting for my flight to Paris.

Jusqu’a demain …

Wish you could come along? You can. Just follow me in this space!

Is it art? A walk through the mural gallery that is Santurce

A Friday morning walk through forgotten and mostly abandoned streets in Santurce revealed a wealth of of “urban art.”  I have prepared a slide show for you – but I expect comments on the pictures, and especially comments if you decide to go see this for yourself.  San Juan is pretty much deserted this weekend, so it is a good time to go exploring!  See the slideshow here.

Of course, one cannot be a serious, art snob all the time … we had some fun!

We even had some fun with them!

Looking for a breath of Spring? Some excitement!

You will find it at “Inspiring Beauty:  50 Years of Ebony Fashion Flair.” Don’t miss this exhibit at the Milwaukee Art Museum.
